about

This website is dedicated to the memory, art and talents of Maya Sloan Smith Dolana - a beautiful, intelligent, kind, free-spirited 19-year-old who tragically passed away in a car accident on July 13, 2019. We created this website to display her art with the objective of inspiring others to pursue their passions through the path of art.

From an early age, Maya was a unique child who looked at life through an alternative lens than most children – and even most adults. She saw the world differently and began using her art, her writing, and her speech to capture and convey her deepest thoughts in abstract, in color, and from all angles that most wouldn’t consider.

She had a passion for art, for books, for movies, and for all things cats. She had a free spirit and incredible wisdom that was beyond her years. Her art reflects her internal beauty, her insights about the world, and her emotional state of mind. It is a compilation of all she saw and embraced in the world around her.

The net proceeds from the sale of her art will be donated to charities and programs focused on the arts and creative writing. A creative writing grant has already been created in Maya's name at the University of Arizona English Department that is available to students to help them pursue their passion of writing and keep the arts alive. The funds from the sale of Maya's art will be used to continue this grant as well as fund other charities focused on the arts.

We hope you enjoy Maya’s art and continue to see the beauty in all she created. Thank you for your support.
